What a weekend! Saturday brought record highs to our area with afternoon temperatures topping 70 degrees! St. Louis Lambert Airport recorded a temperature of 74, breaking the previous record set back in 1999 of 72.
A dry cold front pushed through the area overnight and shifted our winds to the northwest, giving us a 20 degree temperature difference between yesterday afternoon and later today.
However, we're still expecting above average temperatures today, and possibly even through the last week of the month. We don't tap into bitterly cold air with the jet stream far to our north, but we will have a few chances of rain between now and the end of February.
Average temperatures today (Feb. 12) are 44 for the high and 27 for the low. By February 28, the average high for St. Louis is 50 and low is 31.
