Beautiful Mother's Day weekend!

We've managed to come up with an excellent forecast for the weekend; perfect for celebrating mom! High pressure will be in control through early next week, with an upper level ridge over us until Monday into Tuesday.

Expect a BRIGHT weekend with plenty of sunshine and a high UV index, meaning you'll want to make sure you and the kids have on plenty of sunscreen if you're going to be outside all day. The sun index will be between 8-10 through the weekend, and you could get sunburned as quickly as within 15-25 minutes of stepping outside without sun protection.

Mold continues to be the dominant allergy, but grass pollen picks up over the weekend as well. Despite the sneezes, it really will be a gorgeous weekend around the bi-state with several events going on besides Mother's Day.

Perfect running weather is in store Saturday morning for the Girls on the Run 5k in St. Louis, River Town Half Marathon & 5k in Washington, and the Farmington Triathlon. Temperatures shortly after sunrise on Saturday morning will be in the upper 50s to near 60 with very light winds.

Great baseball weather is on tap for us, too! The Cubs are in town for a 3-game series that kicks off tonight. Expect a clear sky to watch some hits way out of the park each day ;)

The pattern becomes more active as we get into the middle and late part of next week to more of a southwesterly flow. More disturbances roll in, and there could be showers and storms each day through next weekend depending on the track of the systems.

Have a great weekend, and happy Mother's Day to all the moms and grandmothers out there!
